Anthony and the Sugarbaker ladies prepare a song-and-dance routine a la the Supremes for an annual talent show with the help of Charlene's cousin Mavis. But Charlene unexpectedly finds out that Mavis is a victim of abuse by her husband and tries to convince her to take her daughters and escape to a better life.
