After moving into their new house Casey (Ashley Leggat) decides she needs a room of her own – or rather, she wants Derek’s (Michael Seater) room.

When Casey humiliates herself by falling on top of her new classmates in the school hall, right in front of Derek’s best friend Sam on whom she has a crush.

When Casey and Derek’s parents decide to go away for the weekend, Casey and Derek must convince their parents that they can be trusted to take care of Edwin.

Chaos in the house prompts Casey to implement some basic house rules. Meanwhile with Nora away at a retreat, George needs to enlist everyone’s help to organize the book club.

Nora and George need a babysitter for an upcoming day trip and Derek ends up being left in charge of Marti who has fun terrorizing him.

When Derek flips the TV remote at Casey causing her to hurt her ankle, Casey decides to return the favor and make Derek really suffer.

Casey is shocked to discover that she has a reputation as a gradegrubber: someone who nitpicks for every grade point.

Offended by the video game Babe Raider, Casey (Ashley Leggat) decides to counter the sexist male attitude in the house by coming up with a set of feminist house rules.

Mayhem ensues as Casey and Derek volunteer to organize their aunt’s wedding reception and Casey’s nemesis.

Sequestered at home with the chicken pox, Derek is forced to ask Casey to help him with his ‘in school merchandising’ business selling the Derek line of products.

When Derek realizes his step-sister Casey has a crush on his best friend Sam.
