Saving Hope

Alex Reid makes a splash on her first day back from maternity leave, coming in hot with a car crash victim that was picked up en route, but things get messy when she’s forced to play nice with the new General Surgeon on call, the very charming, very British Dr. Patrick Curtis. The day gets even more chaotic when she’s quickly called a way to treat a charming convicted murderer brought in for emergency treatment of an ulcer. When complications arise in both cases, Alex has to race against the clock to save the lives of both her patients. Meanwhile, when new father Dr. Charlie Harris is forced to babysit the car accident victim’s “lucky baby”, he is forced to confront his feelings about his paternity towards his own child, all the while juggling an insistent Shahir who is looking for back up on his proposal for a new Alzheimer’s study. In the E.R., Zach, still reeling from the death of his friend Dr. Joel Goran, launches headlong into a case when a patient is admitted with symptoms mirroring those of Ebola, to the point where he puts himself and Maggie at risk of exposure to the deadly virus.
