Dismayed in the wake of his confrontation with David, Aaron tries to take it out on Rory, but when he points out there’s no way he could have known David would be there, Aaron concedes he’s made this mess all by himself. Meanwhile, David is eager to download to Amy or Leo, but it’s Paul who takes to the role with surprising gusto and candor, advising that personal experience has taught him, once a liar, always a lair. Still raw and confused, David is in no fit state to face Aaron when he comes to beg and once again Paul proves himself useful as he runs interference. Turned away, Aaron is in freefall, and it’s Elly who urges him to have faith in David and their relationship and try again. Little does he know that Rory was in fact aware of what he was doing and Aaron’s woes are indeed by his design. David remains at a low ebb and he gets yet another boost from his father as he’s invited to join the steering committee of the new hospital wing. Paul has consummate faith in his son and it’s all the confidence David needs. Taking control of his life, he invited Aaron over – only it’s to tell him that sadly their relationship is over.
