The Savage Murder of a Mother and her Daughter (Amato Case)- On March 31, 2003, firefighters were called to a fire in a housing estate of Meyrargues, near Aix-en-Provence. On site, they discovered a horrific scene: the tortured and charred bodies of a mother and her daughter, Chantal and Audrey D'Amato, aged 53 and 24 respectively. It would take almost 10 years for investigators to solve this incredible mystery and finally identify the murderer, in particular thanks to the intervention of one of the police force's first female criminal profilers.
