On Fantasy Island, famed fashion designer Bryana Spencer is looking to give her husband, Fred Nelson, a chance to realize his dreams of a successful show business career. But Fred, a man who has taken a back seat to his wife's career while serving as the emcee for her fashion shows, only wants is to recapture the love he and his wife shared when they first met. Amid the tension created by her success, Bryana is forced to turn her attention to the fashion show, leaving her husband resentful of how little time they have to spend together. However, when Bryana says he could have done much more with his life, Fred says that if he has to leave to prove he can be a success, he will. But when she worries that not having him there might jeopardize her business, Fred says that he won't walk out. Concerned with what Fred's absence would do to her business, Bryana asks to change her fantasy. After realizing that all she really wants is for Fred to be with her and to keep their marriage from falling apart, Bryana sees him at the bar with one her models, Merlice. After Fred gets drunk and doesn't come home that night, Bryana is sure that he spent the night with Merlice. And though she doesn't want him to go, she says she'll set him free if that what it takes to prove how much she loves him. Going to see Roarke, Fred says that Bryana's fantasy is the problem as he admits to not having the talent to be a success in show business. Listening to Fred complain about his wife's obsession with her business, Roarke asks why he can't accept and enjoy what he and his wife have built together. At the fashion show where her director is struggling in the emcee's role, Bryana admits that what the show needs is Fred. And when Fred steps in to save the second half of the show, he and Bryana realize that they have been true partners in the company's success and leave the island as real partners for the first time in their marriage.
