Season 1 Episode 30 - Episode 30
Once married into wealth but now debt-ridden, Lee Mung-Lu (Alice Chan) returns to Hong Kong from Malaysia to seek refuge with her niece Lee Lok-Yee (Eliza Sam). They are poles apart, often bickering. By chance, Mung-Lu learns that the fruit market owned by her elder brother was seized by Fung Tai-Kin (Wong Kwong Leung) and his nephew Fung Bo (Raymond Wong). She seeks to reclaim the property by hook or by crook but ends up in hilarious chaos. Lok-Yee and her schoolmate Wong Yau-Choi (Mat Yeung) are social workers devoted to helping others in Yau Ma Tei. They encounter legendary Chan Yuk-Man (Crystal Fung) and get caught up in a controversy surrounding the fruit market and the society. Having gone through many ups and downs, Mung-Lu , Lok-Yee and Yuk-Man eventually bring significant change to the out-of-date fruit market.

Season 1
S01:E01 - Episode 1
Famous actress Lee Mung-Lu has gone to Malaysia with her tycoon husband Ma Tsun-Yin to start a new life. Mung-Lu goes to a party hosted by Tsun-Yin to celebrate her birthday. Mung-Lu catches sight of Tsun-Yin and some woman engaging in hanky-panky activities. That indecent woman even declares she is pregnant. Mung-Lu is furious and returns to Hong Kong. She thinks of her niece Lee Lok-Yee, who is a school teacher and could offer some help. Fung Bo is a righteous character at wholesale fruit market. Fung Bo and his cousin Kwong-Fai manage Tai Koon Store, whose owner Fung Tai-Kin, nicknamed Nagger Kin, is Fung Bo's father. Mung-Lu eventually reaches Lok-Yee's home. She finds out Lok-Yee has a housemate called Tsang Chi-Bong, who is a Crime Squad officer and also her younger cousin brother. Tsun-Yin catches up with Mung-Lu as he wants her to sign securities trading documents. Mung-Lu insults Tsun-Yin. Some minions pursue her in return. Mung-Lu takes shelter in Tai Koon Store. The place is on fire.
S01:E02 - Episode 2
Mung-Lu suffers burns. The shares she has invested in are suspended from trading. Mung-Lu needs to earn a living. She talks with a producer about making a comeback. Lok-Yee wants Mung-Lu to come to wholesale fruit market. As it turns out, the fire damaged fruit store owner is Lee But, Mung-Lu's elder brother and also Lok-Yee's father. Lok-Yee hears news about Lee But giving 20% ownership to Tai-Kin and other brothers when he was alive. He retained 80% ownership. She approaches Tai-Kin with all kinds of suggestions about taking back the store's ownership. Tsun-Yin comes to Hong Kong and forces Mung-Lu to return to Malaysia. Mung-Lu uses Chi-Bong as her shield. Lok-Yee hears news about the primary school where she teaches is about to be axed. She instantly loses her job. Mung-Lu realizes Lok-Yee's situation and vigorously persuades her to take back the fruit store. But Lok-Yee does not have any document to prove her ownership. It is unlikely she can take back control.
S01:E03 - Episode 3
Social worker Wong Yau-Choi suggests his father Wong Yiu-Tong, who is Hong Kong and Kowloon Fruit Merchants Chamber President, provide employee protection for workers. Yau-Choi embarrasses his father. Yau-Choi then brings up the topic of argument over Lok-Yee's father's ownership. Yau-Choi's mother Tong Siu-Hung offers help. Wo Fung Store's documents are successfully retrieved in the chamber. Mung-Luasks Tai-Kin to pay HK$3,000,000 for Wo Fung Store's ownership. Tai-Kin declines. Tai Hong-Kin, recently promoted Yau Ma Tei gangster big shot, has his eyes on wholesale fruit market. Chi-Bong and the police are keeping a close watch on Hong-Kin. On the day of the grand opening of Wo Fung Store, smartly dress Mung-Lu has invited distinguished guests including star class showbiz personalities and councilor Or Chun-pak. Tai-Kin is provoked by singing, dancing and feasting on the other side. Mung-Lu and Tai-Kin become foes.
S01:E04 - Episode 4
Tai-Kin finally follows wholesale fruit market veterans' advice and agrees to Mung-Lu's buyout proposal. Lok-Yee prepares to start the work day. Fung Bo knows she is selling out. He reckons her behavior is despicable as she still pretends to be busy in front of other people. But in fact Lok-Yee has no idea about the buyout. Lok-Yee diligently manages the fruit store and goes to a fruit wholesaler to make some purchases. She even asks the person in charge Mr. Law for advice. Mr. Law hastily sells her several dozen boxes of oranges and apples. Lok-Yee ends up being stuck with unsold goods. Lok-Yee and Mung-Lu go to find Mr. Law and reason with him. Mr. Law turns out to be a Mung-Lu fan. Lok-Yee and Mung-Lu have priority over others in buying premium fruits. Coolies at wholesale fruit market go on strike. Yiu-Tong shows up at the scene to investigate. He is aghast to find out Yau-Choi is the mastermind behind the industrial action.
S01:E05 - Episode 5
Hong-Kin's minions clash with wholesale fruit market workers. Lok-Yee is caught in the mayhem and passes out. Yau-Choi takes Fung Bo to taste some goose dish. They run into Hong-Kin, who murderously chases after them. The adversaries confront each other. Crime Squad bigwig Lam Sir and Hong-Kin bump into each other. They say mean things about each other. Wrapped all over in gauze, Fung Bo goes to fruit merchants chamber where everybody thanks him. Fung Bo suggests everybody contribute to a new fund. Wo Fung Store's exclusive supply of premium fruits troubles Tai-Kin. He tells Yuet-Ling to go to the wholesale place where Mr. Law works to find out more. Yuet-Ling thinks Mung-Lu indecently offers herself to Mr. Law in exchange for nice fruits. Yuet-Ling is furious and wants to expose the duo. Sis Kuk, one of the wholesale fruit market coolies, receives a call from the police. She is told her daughter is involved in an incident.
S01:E06 - Episode 6
Yau-Choi tails Wing-Shan and her friend to their modeling agency. Thanks to a collection of swimwear photos, Wing-Shan becomes a cyberstar. Yau-Choi is curious. He asks Yuk-Man to disguise as a teen model and go undercover. Yuk-Man finds out they are plotting to kidnap Master Lin, son of a wealthy family. To investigate further, Yau-Choi sneaks into Master Lin's pool-side party. The situation is getting dangerous.
S01:E07 - Episode 7
Wholesale fruit market notice board is suddenly displaying Mung-Lu's nude photos from yesteryear which attract onlookers. Mung-Lu promptly calls film production people she met all those years ago and asks them to help find her body double to clarify the matter. Some customer is interested in buying the liquor next to the wall and asks Yuk-Man about it. Yuk-Man declines. A big fight ensues. Yau-Choi then finds out the liquor belongs to Yuk-Man's elder brother, previous gang leader, Yung. Mung-Lu eventually finds her body double, Double Ting, who posed naked in her place. But people around Mung-Lu offer boos in return. Yiu-Tong tells fruit traders overseas fruit merchants are coming to Hong Kong to host an exhibition. Tai-Kin wants Fung Bo and Kwong-Fai to attend the event. The duo cannot communicate with foreign fruit merchants and embarrass themselves. Wo Fung Store ends up getting exclusive dealership because of Lok-Yee's efforts. Tai-Kin reprimands Fung Bo.
S01:E08 - Episode 8
To face up to competitors, Tai-Kin wants Fung Bo to improve his English. Yau-Choi suggests Fung Bo sign up for easy English class at the community center. Surprisingly, Lok-Yee turns out to be the teacher. Mung-Lu is worried by the news that orange farms in California are having a bad harvest. Uncle Man introduces Brother Tai, his elder brother's old client's son, to Mung-Lu and Lok-Yee Brother Tai claims to have a fruit farm in Israel as he wants to make Mung-Lu fall into his trap. Fung Bo warns Lok-Yee about Brother Tai's dishonest intentions. But Mung-Lu thinks Brother Tai is sincere.
S01:E09 - Episode 9
Lok-Yee suspects Brother Tai has set up a fraud scheme. Chi-Bong and she uncover the truth. Chi-Bong just cannot take his eyes off Yau-Mai. Fake oranges cause the fruit store to lose business. Worse still, some old folks at an old people's home suffer food poisoning. Lok-Yee goes by herself to the concerned fruit stores to express her apologies. Mung-Lu suggests Lok-Yee quit the fruit store to settle the matter. Mung-Lu takes up acting again and goes to the TV station to make drama. Tai-Kin visits his wife's grave on her birth date every year. Fung Bo always makes some excuse that he cannot go to pay his respects.
Tai-Kin always gets angry because of this matter. Having calmed down, Tai-Kin recalls his reasons for adopting Fung Bo all those years ago.
S01:E10 - Episode 10
Pupils of the primary school where Lok-Yee used to teach are hosting an art exhibition. Lok-Yee tells Fung Bo to make sure everything is OK at the exhibition venue. But pupils make fun of him. Lok-Yee's kindness impresses Siu-Hung, who offers to stand in for Lok-Yee at the store. Siu-Hung wrongly thinks Yau-Choi fancies Lok-Yee. Chi-Bong also offers to stand in for Lok-Yee at the store as he wants to be close to Yau-Mei. Mung-Lu makes a comeback. She is insulted in game show and also during drama production. It is windy and raining. Mung-Lu falls into a muddy puddle. It is a heartbreaking scene.
S01:E11 - Episode 11
Yung Shu Tau Festival host asks Tai-Kin to chop open a durian with his bare hand. Tai-Kin reluctantly agrees to try but hurts his hand. Mung-Lu offers to go on stage to perform martial arts. She even helps Tai-Kin chop open a durian, getting him out of an awkward situation and winning applause from the audience. Tai-Kin is grateful to Mung-Lu. The two of them can now get along. Double Eight is suddenly hurt and hospitalized. Yau-Choi and Fung Bo call the police. But Double Eight says she fell down by herself. Her chums are agitated and want revenge. Chun-Pak invites Mung-Lu to his younger cousin sister's engagement banquet. Chun-Pak fancies Mung-Lu. Dressed to the nines, Mung-Lu returns in Cinderella style to the fruit store to take care of business. Tai-Kin cannot believe what he sees.
S01:E12 - Episode 12
Yuk-Man and Yau-Choi seek justice for Double Eight. They confront Hong-Kin. Ko B nearly dies in a traffic accident. Double Eight manages to save him. Lok-Yee and Fung Bo come to Temple Street. Some fortune teller tells Fung Bo that he and his parents are destined to be like strangers. Fung Bo leaves Lok-Yee behind and goes to Tin Hau Temple to pray alone. He is confused. After some hanky-panky, Chun-Pak and Mung-Lu realize they really love each other. Chun-Pak encourages Mung-Lu to run for the merchants chamber president. Mung-Lu is touched.
S01:E13 - Episode 13
Lok-Yee, Fung Bo and Yau-Choi go to Yuk-Man's bar to celebrate. After unwittingly tasting some apple cocktail, Yau-Choi feels itchy all over. He is actually allergic to apples. The itching is overwhelming. Yau-Choi barges into a love hotel as he wants to take a bath to calm the itch. Yuk-Man thinks Yau-Choi is a stylish guy. Just as she is about to get to know him better, cops show up to check the hotel's license. Lam Sir uses illegal prostitution as an excuse for taking Yuk-Man to the police station. Yiu-Tong hears the news and wrongly thinks Yau-Choi likes hookers. Father and son clash. In a chamber meeting, Mung-Lu expresses her wish of becoming a council member. Yiu-Tong questions her intention. But she has won Tai-Kin's support. At the chamber, Tai-Kin makes a speech about some younger person should become the new chamber president. He endorses Fung Bo's campaign.
S01:E14 - Episode 14
Restaurant bosses call Mung-Lu to cancel their orders for oranges. Mung-Lu suffers big losses. Yiu-Tong suddenly show ups and tells Mung-Lu he is not happy about her siding with Tai-Kin in support of Fung Bo's election campaign. Yiu-Tong bans her outright. Lok-Yee advises Fung Bo to change his image and makes promotional videos. The bond between them grows stronger. At a restaurant, Hong-Kin overhears Yiu-Tong and Tai-Kin arguing. He knows this is the right time to take over control of the fruit market. Tai Koon Store has been repeatedly vandalized for several days. Fung Bo and the fruit store people want to take revenge on Hong-Kin.
S01:E15 - Episode 15
Chun-Pak finds out the rich kid he introduced to Mung-Lu has been instructed by Yiu-Tong to cancel Wo Fung Store's order. Mung-Lu's losses make him feel uneasy. Mung-Lu reckons the president has extensive influence. Chun-Pak again encourages Mung-Lu to run for chamber president. He gives her his total support in fighting against Fung Bo over the presidency. Her ambition is aroused. Yau-Mei wants to reunite her estranged parents. She plays matchmaker and arouses Siu-Hung's affection for Yiu-Tong. Hong-Kin and his minions cause trouble at the fruit market. While Fung Bo is dealing with him, the president suddenly summons the market people as he has an announcement to make. As it turns out, Yiu-Tong is not seeking another term. He endorses Mung-Lu's campaign. His announcement causes an uproar. Tai-Kin feels incredulous. Mung-Lu and Fung Bo become adversaries.
S01:E16 - Episode 16
Chamber president election campaign has worn Mung-Lu out. She is exhausted and passes out. Fung Bo passes by and takes her to Double Eight's store to rest. Mung-Lu plays some mind game by making a speech. On election day, Fung Bo's sincerity in a grand debate impresses the neighborhood people. He has the upper hand initially. Mung-Lu ends up being elected. She surprisingly wins by having one more vote than Fung Bo. Fung Bo reveals he has given his vote to Mung-Lu. Lok-Yee encourages Fung Bo to tell Tai-Kin the truth, which really angers Tai-Kin. Father and son dislike each other. Ching-Yung causes Cheung Hing-Yiu to pass out. Hing-Yiu comes round. Yuk-Man rushes to the hospital. She pretends to be a legal assistant and coaxes Hing-Yiu into giving evidence to prove Ching-Yung has nothing to do with the incident. His wife Yeung Shuk-Lan shows up. The two of them confront each other.
S01:E17 - Episode 17
Yuk-Man does everything she can to prove her elder brother Ching-Yung's innocence.
She cooperates with Hong-Kin in using a preemptive strategy to handle Hing-Yiu. Yau-Choi stubbornly dissuades them. Hong-Kin hurts Yau-Choi because of this. Yau-Choi gives Chi-Bong evidence to prove Hing-Yiu has committed perjury to frame Ching-Yung. Chi-Bong cannot accept the fact his boss is a dirty cop. Fung Bo becomes a diligent person as he wants to have more romantic time with Lok-Yee. As Fung Bo chases after Lok-Yee, he also brings about hilarious stories. Mr. and Mrs. Yiu come to the fruit market to look for their missing son. But Mrs. Yiu is exhausted and faints. Fung Bo and Lok-Yee take them to a tree where they relax underneath. This couple who have been kindly helped by Fung Bo turn out be his biological parents.
S01:E18 - Episode 18
Chi-Bong loses his gun as he pursues some thief. To help her friend, Yau-Mei joins others in a filthy back alley in their search for the missing gun. Chi-Bong is certain Yau-Mei is an angel. Tai-Kin has settled some dispute between store owners, proving his ability and competence and winning Mung-Lu's admiration. Mung-Lu proposes to let Tai-Kin become vice-president. But Tai-Kin declines and suggests Fung Bo should take up the position instead. Government officials and Mung-Lu, with Chun-Pak by her side, discuss improving hygiene conditions at the fruit market. Mung-Lu's performance greatly impresses Chun-Pak. Siu-Hung regards Yuk-Man as her prospective daughter-in-law. But Yuk-Man does not like to be treated this way. Hong-Kin's minions catch sight of Hing-Yiu and his wife in Shenzhen. Hong-Kin realizes he has been fooled. He and his minions go to Let's Go Bar to vandalize. Ka-Shing and Yuk-Man are seriously wounded.
S01:E19 - Episode 19
Yau-Choi nurses a wounded Yuk-Man at Yuk-Man's place. But Yuk-Man tells him off in return. Mr. and Mrs. Yiu ask Lok-Yee to secretly deliver all kinds of gifts to Fung Bo's family as compensation. Kwong-Fai has always wanted to help Sis Kuk, who always declines. Sis Kuk returns home and sees her estranged husband Rat Snake, whom she has not seen for many years. Rat Snake wants to sell the property and asks for money. He threatens Sis Kuk by taking Wing-Shan's younger brother and sister hostage. Sis Kuk grabs a knife and stabs Rat Snake. Mr. Yiu introduces his adopted son, Donald, to Lok-Yee. Donald slyly pretends to be a nice guy. Lok-Yee invites Donald to meet Fung Bo. Rat Snake finds Wing-Shan. He forces her to become a drug mule.
S01:E20 - Episode 20
Kwong-Fai always lends a helping hand to Sis Kuk. Sis Kuk gradually accepts Kwong-Fai. Hong-Kin asks Rat Snake to settle his outstanding debt. He goes to Tai Koon Store to cause trouble. Tai-Kin uses Wing Chun Kung Fu to teach Hong-Kin a lesson. Hong-Kin takes over Yuk-Man's bar and causes a scene. For Yuk-Man's sake, Ka-Shing stays behind to work at the bar. He endures all kinds of degrading treatment. Ching-Yung suddenly shows up. He seems to have reinvented himself as someone to be reckoned with. Hong-Kin and his people are shocked. Ching-Yung is hosting a banquet to announce his withdrawal from the realm of dodgy dealings. Folks are greatly surprised. Mung-Lu and Donald are discussing business prospects in the Hong Kong fruit trade. Tai-Kin happens to pass by. Mung-Lu introduces Donald to Tai-Kin as she is keen on making him a partner. But the two of them do not get along because of new and old ways of thinking.
S01:E21 - Episode 21
Fung Bo angrily trashes all the gifts given to him by Mr. and Mrs. Yiu. He is furious. He thinks everybody tells him lies. Fung Bo is planning to see Lok-Yee when she finishes work. He has bought some flowers for her as his gesture of apology. He runs into Donald, who looks devious and seems to fancy Lok-Yee. Fung Bo is enraged. Indictment against Ching-Yung is suspended. Ching-Yung makes a comeback, causing Hong-Kin to be defensive. Ching-Yung has invited big shots in Yau Tsim Mong district to a banquet. He announces he no longer handles dodgy deals. Everybody is surprised. Hong-Kin even thinks Ching-Yung has ulterior motive. Ching-Yung is now an ordinary guy. With Fung Bo and Yau-Choi's connections, Ching-Ying works as a coolie at the fruit market. He endures harsh treatment and prejudice.
S01:E22 - Episode 22
Mung-Lu provokes Chun-Pak into acknowledging their relationship. Donald craftily gets in Lok-Yee and Fung-Bo's way and incites conflict between the couple. Meanwhile, Fung-Bo reuniting with his biological parents causes Tai-kin to feel uneasy and lose sleep. Hong-Kin repeatedly insults Ching-Yung. The fruit market workers also make this ex-gangster big shot's life difficult. Yau-Mei admires Ching-Yung and sympathizes with his situation. The two of them handle adverse situations together. Love grows between them. Donald uses his devious scheme to hide Mr. Yiu's illness. The situation is getting critical. Lok-Yee bravely steals the medicine to prove Mr. Yiu's illness. Donalds tricks are further unraveled.
S01:E23 - Episode 23
Lok-Yee and Fung Bo take Mrs. Yiu to revisit old places, bringing back memories of Mr. Yiu's desperate situation all those years ago. Donald's scheme uses Chun-Pak and involves acquiring arch enemy's Four Miles Clothing Limited. Fung Bo sympathizes with the underdog. He tries his best to persuade Mr. Yiu but to no avail. Yuk-Man loses her bar. Yau-Choi finds a job for her at the community center. She starts living a healthy lifestyle. Mr. Yiu is finally moved by Fung Bo's sincerity. He lets go of grudges from yesteryear that have kept bothering him. Mr. Yiu admires Fung Bo even more.
S01:E24 - Episode 24
Donald ends up as the loser and returns to Canada. He uses business reorganization as a camouflage. But in fact he is plotting to take over control. He really hates Fung Bo. He challenges Fung Bo to a duel. But Fung Bo's kung fu overpowers him. Yuet-Ling cannot tolerate her relationship with Tai-Kin any longer. She has wrongly fallen for Tai-Kin. She resorts to drinking her sorrows away. Mung-Lu teaches Yuet-Ling how to capture Tai-Kin's heart. Ching-Yung and Yau-Mei climb up a staggeringly long flight of stairs. The professor is finally moved. The bond between them grows stronger. Tsun-Yin from Malaysia suddenly appears at the fruit market out of the blue. Mung-Lu meets a guy who used to call the shots. She does not want anything to do with him, causing Tsun-Yin to be furious.
S01:E25 - Episode 25
Yau-Mei and Ching-Yung are deeply in love. While they are romancing, they run into another romantic couple, Yau-Choi and Yuk-Man. Yau-Choi does not like his younger sister going out with Ching-Yung. Yuk-Man is disgusted. Because of this incident, sibling relationship between Yau-Mei and Yau-Choi is becoming strained. Yuk-Man and Yau-Choi stop talking to each other. Ching-Yung and Yuk-Man treasure their sibling relationship. Yuk-Man returns to the bar and retrieves her parents' old photos. She overhears Hong-Kin and Tsun-Yin talking about some dodgy deal. Ching-Yung tells Tai-Kin and his people to set up booby traps at the fruit market to handle the baddies.
