Mas: Water Rescue Dog (Lake Moleno, Italy) - The Newfoundlander Mas bravely leaps from helicopters, swims to victims and pulls them safely to shore. It took trainer Ferruccio Pilenga and Mas 10 years to be recognized by the Italian Coast Guard.

S01:E13 - EPISODE 13: Sled Dog
The Contenders: Sled Dogs (Grand Portage, Minnesota) - Mitch Seavey and his lead dog, Dolphin, tackle a three-day, round-the-clock, sled-dog race in Northern Minnesota. The ‘musher’ Mitch is one of three generations of racing Seaveys – a family dynasty in this extreme and challenging sport. The race takes place in Chippewa country, where sled dogs have been a part of day-to-day life for centuries.
