QI expert Alan Davies, introduces incredible stories of Dog rescues from the RSPCA's Leybourne Animal Centre. In Essex Deputy Inspector Matt Gough is called to a remote farm, where there are allegedly dogs being kept in poor conditions. But when he arrives, he has to coordinate a mammoth operation between police, the fire service and the RSPCA to remove 72 dogs. While on patrol in Plymouth, Inspector Sarah Morris picks up a dog running free on the streets. But it’s not a stray, but a young Border collie called Beau, who ran away from her owner in the park. We follow Beau on a training day to see if she can learn to obey orders. We join the RSPCA Ruffs competition, an alternative doggy beauty pageant to celebrate the perfectly imperfect. And we catch-up with Lupo, a Rottweiler-cross rescued last year from a filthy caravan on a farm in Wales.
