Verity Is Bringing BookTok’s Favorite Red Flags to the Big Screen

From obsessive exes to unreliable memories and picture-perfect lives hiding very ugly secrets, these Tubi thrillers turn BookTok’s favorite warning signs into must-watch chaos.

In real life, a red flag means run. On BookTok? It means cancel your plans because things are about to get good. Give us an obsessive ex, a suspiciously perfect marriage, someone who swears they’re telling the truth, or a secret that could ruin absolutely everything, and suddenly we’re 200 pages deep with no intention of going to bed.

Verity knows the assignment. Colleen Hoover’s psychological thriller is heading to the big screen with its mysterious manuscript, buried secrets, questionable motives, and the kind of characters who make trusting anyone feel like a rookie mistake. It’s also the latest BookTok favorite making the jump from TBR to screen. Curiosity officially activated.

Tubi has plenty more where that came from. These six thrillers take some of BookTok’s favorite warning signs and let them spiral: jealousy becomes obsession, an ex refuses to stay in the past, memories stop adding up, and picture-perfect lives start looking a little too perfect. Questioning everyone’s motives is practically part of the viewing experience, and Tubi’s Thriller collection has plenty more reasons to trust no one.

Are the red flags waving? Absolutely. Are we still pressing play? Obviously.

Chloe

The Red Flag: “I just need to know if I can trust him.”

Nothing says healthy communication quite like secretly hiring someone to test your husband’s loyalty. Catherine makes that extremely questionable choice after becoming suspicious of David, enlisting a young escort named Chloe to tempt him and report back. Simple enough, until Chloe’s increasingly intimate stories start pulling Catherine into something much messier than the truth she originally wanted.

Amanda Seyfried, Julianne Moore, and Liam Neeson turn Chloe into an uncomfortable web of jealousy, desire, and manipulation where figuring out who has control becomes half the fun. Catherine wanted reassurance. Instead, she got obsession with a side of “maybe we should've just talked about this.”

The Ward

The Red Flag: “I know what I saw.”

Waking up inside a psychiatric hospital with no clear memory of how you got there? Concerning. Realizing something may be stalking the halls while patients mysteriously disappear? We have officially upgraded to please get out of there immediately.

Amber Heard stars as Kristen, a young woman trying to piece together what landed her inside the institution while everyone around her seems to know something she doesn’t. But The Ward makes even that difficult by turning Kristen’s own memory into another mystery. John Carpenter traps us in psychological-thriller territory where every answer creates another question and trusting your own version of events might be the biggest gamble of all.

The Wrong Obsession

The Red Flag: “He just never got over me.”

There’s being unforgettable, and then there’s an ex who apparently took “moving on” as a personal suggestion.

Lisa is already trying to repair problems in her marriage when someone from her past comes wandering back into the picture. A little nostalgia quickly turns less cute as her former flame's interest becomes fixation, putting Lisa and the life she's built in danger. The Wrong Obsession takes the romance trope “he never stopped wanting her,” which sounds flattering for approximately five seconds, and reminds us why there should probably be a limit.

My Deadly Affair

The Red Flag: “But what we have is different.”

“We shouldn’t be doing this” has launched probably one million fictional relationships, and My Deadly Affair is here to demonstrate what happens when nobody listens to the first half of that sentence.

An affair with a married man is only the beginning when a young woman’s attraction transforms into something much harder to contain. Soon, she’s posing as his daughter’s tutor and placing herself directly inside his family’s life. Secret rendezvous are one thing; infiltrating the household is another. At that point, forbidden romance has officially left the chat and obsession has the password to the Wi-Fi.

Obsession

The Red Flag: “You don’t understand our connection.”

Sonny does something good, gets rewarded with a new job, and then promptly discovers that his new boss has a wife he can't seem to stay away from. You can probably see the warning lights flashing from here.

Forbidden chemistry pulls Sonny and Larissa closer in Obsession, but attraction becomes harder to romanticize once he learns she wants her husband dead. Now he's not just crossing a relationship boundary; he's caught in a situation where desire, manipulation, and murder are becoming increasingly difficult to separate. Suddenly, “we have a connection” sounds less like romance and more like evidence.

Secrets in Suburbia

The Red Flag: “Everything is perfect.”

Beautiful house? Check. Husband? Check. Close friends? Check. Murder plot? Ah. There it is.

Gloria seemingly has the suburban dream until cracks begin appearing in the life she thought she knew. Those cracks get bigger when she discovers that betrayal is coming from the people closest to her, including a husband involved in a deadly plot connected to her family fortune. Secrets in Suburbia takes the picture-perfect façade and gleefully starts peeling it back, because in a good psychological thriller, “everything is perfect” might be the biggest warning sign of them all.
