Scuba Encounter Rudy and a friend had gone diving for spiny lobsters ninety-feet below the surface. The two headed directly for a cave which they knew had an abundant supply of them. The opening to the cave was small and to get inside they had to remove their oxygen tanks, push them through the opening of the cave then swim through themselves. Once inside, the two split up. As Rudy was swimming along, he suddenly heard a voice yell, ñGet out!î Within minutes, an angry Moray Eel began attacked Rudy. Both Rudy and his friend panicked while trying to escape from the cave. Just when Rudy thought he would never make it back to the surface alive, he felt something grab hold of him. The next thing he knew he was surrounded by clear blue water. He was out of the cave and safely on his way to the surface. Cat Finds Gas Leak Ray and Carol Steiner were very sick. Their doctors told the couple they just needed time to recuperate, but their cat, Ringo, knew better. The red tabby Manx began throwing himself against the front and back doors of the house to get CarolÍs attention. Carol assumed Ringo wanted to be let out and opened the door. But when she did, he wouldnÍt budge. Finally, she figured out the cat wanted her to follow. Ringo lead her out and stopped at the south side of the house near a gas meter and began digging. Ringo had pointed out a gas leak that was at explosive levels. RingoÍs discovery, not only saved the Steiners, but also the neighbors surrounding the house. Native Son At 21, Brian Bauman was on top of the worldƒHe was a pilot-in-training, an aspiring pediatrician and at the top of his class in the U.S. Air Force Academy. All of that would drastically change. First it began with a stomach ache and was followed quickly by exhaustion and loss of appetite. Soon, Brian would learn he was suffering from chronic myelogenous leukemia. Without a bone marrow transplant, he would only live five more years, at most. The best chance for BrianÍs survival was to find a compatible match from a blood relative. Brian was adopted at the age of three from Korea by Steve and Elaine Bauman and had grown up in Minnesota. His chances of finding a blood match seemed hopeless, but an extraordinary miracle was about to transpire with the help of two nations working together to save one life. Boy Scout to the Rescue What started out as pleasant hike for Miranda Adelman and her mother quickly became a life-or-death situation for the 24-year old graduate student. During their hike, Miranda suddenly suffers a life threatening asthma attack on the snow-packed Catalina Mountains near Tucson, Arizona. Lucky for her, some guardian angels in the form of Boy Scout Troop 172 were also on the trail that day.
