Michelin starred chef, Glynn Purnell, and cooking legend Rachel Allen present a new series of My Kitchen Rules UK. They will be judging 20 pairs of enterprising and inspired amateur cooks from all over the UK who open their own restaurant at home for one ambitious night, in a bid to scoop the £10,000 prize and the right to say, ‘My Kitchen Rules.’ My Kitchen Rules UK is about real people with a real passion for food. Each week, five teams of two from the North, South, Midlands/Wales & Scotland cook a three-course restaurant standard meal against the clock for their rival teams and the judges to critique and score. The strongest teams from each region will go through to the MKR Mansion where their culinary skills will be put to the test by some of the UK’s best-known chefs and culinary gurus. The winning teams will make it to Kitchen Headquarters for a series of challenges that will see one team beat off the competition for the title of MKR UK champion. But who has the flair, finesse and the fine dining menu to set them apart from the rest? First to cook in the South are mother and daughter Nathalie and Jade who serve up a Guyanese inspired menu at their restaurant for the night, The Crystal Cove. The pair have five hours to shop, prep and cook their three-course meal to impress their guests and the judges. Will they set the bar high with their starter of Spicy Smoked Bouillabaisse with Guyanese Bread Bakes & Cod Fishcakes, main of Berbice Spicy Beef Curry with Aromatic Rice, Potato Puri & Crispy Fried Plantain and dessert of Caramelised Mango Tart with Chantilly Cream & Captains ‘To Die For’ Chocolate Sauce?
